Letter from Glenwood Lundberg, July 28, 2003 (that the name of Peter Nordman, his son, was formerly Peter Peterson, but after serving his term of 2 years in the army of Sweden, according to the custom of that country in order to avoid confusion on account of the great number of such common names, the said Peter Peterson Jr. changed his name to Peter Nordman”.

From researcher, Terje Gudbrandson, Kristian Augusts gate 19, 0164, Oslo, Norway – Carl Pettersson Nordmark was born 14 Aug 1827 on a farm in Galtviken, Sillerud parish, Vaermeland with accompanying 1895 map of Sweden and the area of Sillerud highlighted.  Nordmark was in southwest Sweden and was a traditional church parish of Vaermeland.

14.  Also from researcher, Terje Gudbrandson, Anne Kristine Jensdatter was born 3 March 1834 and baptized in Fet as Anna Christine on 16 March 1864.

15. Goldsmith Carl Nordmark Pettersson took the name of Nordmark when he moved to Christiania (Oslo) on 23 Nov 1850.  From Tore Steinar Berg (Tore Berg, Kastanjeveien 48, N-3026, a cousin from Drammen Norway, Carl lived in Fredrikshald (Halden) Norway for several years after he emigrated from Sweden before he moved to Oslo.  Carl and Anne were mentioned in a book about people who lived in Fet (Bostedshistorien for Fet), part 3, p 43-44 (Jan Erik Horgen, 1988).  Tore’s ancestor is Svante August Pettersson, Carl Nordmark’brother, torstbe55@msm.com .  Tore has an informative site on the web.
